Job Description:
The Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, the Department of Medicine and the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center are inviting applications for the position of Cardiac Intensive Care Specialist. This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Teacher or Clinician Quality Improvement at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. It is expected that the position will be 50-75% clinical and 25-50% related to teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and/or administrative duties. Expected start date is July 1, 2025 or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree; have or be eligible for certification in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Completion of formal training in Critical Care Medicine is mandatory and the candidate must have or be eligible for certification in Critical Care Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Candidates with broad clinical, teaching and quality improvement experience will be considered. Teaching experience will be measured by the presence of formal training in education, a strong track record of interests and excellence in resident and fellow education, formal training in teaching methodology, awards, leadership as a clinical educator and other relevant experience. Quality improvement experience will be measured by the presence of formal training in quality improvement, and a track record of successful initiatives, leadership, awards and/or publications.

Remuneration:
Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered. The candidate will be able to participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
