Description:
The position is classified as Class 3, on the WRHA-Churchill Health Region Employers and Doctors Manitoba Collective Agreement salary scale. A comprehensive benefits package is provided as per employee eligibility via HEB Manitoba, including paid vacation and sick leave, pension and other benefits.

Job Summary:
Consistent with the principles of primary health care, and in accordance with Nine Circles Community Health Centre program standards, policies and procedures, the Family Physician will provide primary care services. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Family Physician provides comprehensive health care to people living with HIV and at-risk populations. The Family Physician plays an integral role as a member of an integrated care team that participates in developing, implementing and evaluating a health care plan that reflects the goals and expectations put forth by the client.

The job is a part-time or full-time permanent position, between 40 and 80 hours per two-week period (including holiday pay hours). The regular workdays for this position will fall between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Occasional evenings may be required.

Qualifications:
Education and Training

Required:

  • Family Practice Residency Completion
  • Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and current registered member in good standing
  • Trained in Opiate Agonist Therapy (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Preference of minimum 2 years’ experience of directly related experience working in a primary care, community health and/or ambulatory care setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion strategies 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Community Development, Harm Reduction, Health Equity and Client-Centered concepts and applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and the impact of colonization on the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Commitment to and knowledge of community-based health care
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Facility with computers and keyboarding

Assets

  • Experience and/or interest in HIV care and treatment, Hepatitis C management, mental health and addictions care
  • Knowledge of and experience in Accuro or similar Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Fluency in languages other than English
