Description:
Island Health’s Division of Neurology is recruiting Neurologists with excellent General Neurology skills. Additionally, we have opportunities to work within many of the sub-specialty areas in our hospital-based clinics. We are happy to receive applications from any sub-specialist Neurologists wanting to bring their expertise to our communities.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate(s) will encompass hospital-based inpatient general neurology practice, full participation in the on-call schedule for the 24/7 Island Stroke Neurology Program and establishing an independent office practice.

Academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Island Medical School postgraduate and undergraduate programs is available. Our hospitals are UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program sites with over a dozen family practice residents at select locations. We also provide quality initiative and leadership training opportunities and clinical research supported through our Vancouver Island Research Centre.

Victoria is an acute stroke referral centre. We have access to full intensive care, neurosurgical and radiology specialties. Our program offers sub-specialty care in stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuro-ophthalmology, movement disorders, neuro-muscular and neuro-behavioral disorders. We work closely as a collaborative group and are seeking engaged team players.
