Description:
The Department of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto is seeking a qualified full-time academic General Internist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full-time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Scientist (CS). The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate must have proven clinical excellence in various aspects of general internal medicine, including acute inpatient care, ambulatory care and perioperative medicine, as well as a proven track record in research including peer-reviewed grants and publications commensurate with their academic rank. The successful candidate will also hold a Master’s degree or PhD, and as a clinician scientist will devote appropriate time for research. The successful candidate will also participate in the educational programs in General Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of General Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division of General Internal Medicine, composed of 20 full time academic internists, has an international reputation in clinical research, education and quality improvement.

Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
