About Us

The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada (IPAC) is an Indigenous, national, member-based, non-profit organization and a registered charity. Founded in 1991, IPAC has a long history of supporting Indigenous physicians and medical learners through mentorship, advocacy and partnerships.

Why become a member?

IPAC’s various activities, events and initiatives are a way to connect with fellow Indigenous medical students, residents and physicians as we seek to advance the health of our nations, communities, families and individuals. We share knowledge, provide guidance and support our members through events, resources, and programs like the IPAC Mentorship Circle. We draw on our varied and beautiful cultures and traditional teachings from coast to coast to coast. Together, we can continue the hard work of creating equitable medical education and healthcare systems for all Indigenous people.

Who is eligible to become an IPAC member?

IPAC membership has four categories. While membership is open to all Indigenous Medical Students, Residents, and Physicians, we also have an Associate Member category for allied Indigenous health professionals (for those who are not physicians) and those physicians or health professionals who are non-Indigenous.
