IPAC Board of Directors Nominations – 2026

The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada (IPAC) invites members to step forward and nominate someone to join the Board of Directors.

This is a space to:
• Provide leadership
• Help shape Indigenous health and medical education
• Contribute to meaningful change across our communities

Important to Know

• Nominations must be submitted in advance by an IPAC member in good standing
• Self-nominations are not permitted
• Nominations from the floor at the AGM will not be accepted

Board Positions Open for Election

Postgraduate Trainee Member Director (1)
Postgraduate Trainee Member Director (formally called Resident Member Director) is defined in our bylaws as consisting of Indigenous persons currently appointed to a postgraduate medical education program at an accredited Canadian medical school. I.E. medical residents and medical fellows.

Medical Student Member Director (1)
Medical Student Member is defined in our bylaws as consisting of Indigenous persons currently registered in an undergraduate medical education program at an accredited Canadian medical school.

Nomination Timeline

Nominations open: April 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET
Deadline: May 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET

What to Expect

All nominations will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee in an administrative capacity.

The Committee will:

• Confirm eligibility in accordance with IPAC By-Laws
• Follow up with eligible nominees to confirm their interest
• Gather any additional required information

All eligible nominees will move forward to the election process.

The final slate of candidates will be shared with members ahead of the AGM. Voting will take place as part of the AGM.
