IPAC membership events bring Indigenous physicians, postgraduate trainees, medical students, and future medical learners together to connect, build relationships, and strengthen their sense of community within medicine.
These gatherings create welcoming spaces to learn more about IPAC, explore programs and opportunities, connect with Indigenous peers and physicians, and access mentorship, leadership, wellness, funding, and networking opportunities throughout their medical journeys.
Postgraduate Trainee Guiding Circles

A space for postgraduate trainees to connect, share how things are going, discuss training-related concerns, hear important IPAC updates, and let us know what support would be most helpful.
Participants will receive a $25 meal gift card for each gathering they attend.
Francophone Indigenous Members’ Gathering
Connection and Listening Circle
Held quarterly, this gathering brings together Francophone Indigenous physicians, postgraduate trainees, medical students, community members, and those who support Indigenous medical learners.
It offers a welcoming space to connect, share experiences and perspectives, and talk about language, belonging, mentorship, and community. These conversations also help inform how IPAC can better support and meaningfully engage Francophone Indigenous members.
Our next date is still to be determined, so stay tuned! We’ll share the details as soon as they’re confirmed.
Virtual Four Directions Gatherings (West)

You might join the gathering that aligns with where you live, work or train. You might reconnect with people from another part of Turtle Island, or simply join another gathering because you want to meet more people in the IPAC community.
There’s no wrong one to choose, and members are welcome to register for more than one.
Each gathering is a chance for medical students, postgraduates and physicians to connect with one another, build relationships and spend some time together as a community.

IPAC 2026 Annual General Meeting (Hybrid)

Together, we reflected on the past year, shared organizational updates, celebrated accomplishments, and conducted important member business, including elections and governance matters that help guide IPAC’s future.
Special General Meeting – Bylaw Vote

This meeting marked an important step in ensuring that how we move forward together continues to reflect our shared values of respect, accountability, and relationship.

The town hall offered a high-level walk-through of proposed bylaw changes, highlighting key updates and creating space for questions. Members were invited to review the draft changes, ask questions and share feedback.
Virtual Screening and Conversation – Nechako: It Will Be a Big River Again
Date: January 21, 2026

On January 21, 2026, IPAC hosted a virtual screening of Nechako: It Will Be a Big River Again, followed by a conversation with filmmaker Dr. Lyana Patrick (Stellat’en First Nation).
The film traces the Stellat’en and Saik’uz Nations’ long-standing efforts to heal the Nechako River after decades of environmental harm caused by the Kenney Dam. Following the screening, Dr. Patrick shared reflections on land, restoration, and Indigenous resilience, and engaged in a meaningful Q&A with participants.
This event offered a powerful reminder of the strength of Indigenous Nations and the ongoing work of restoration, resistance, and hope.

IPAC Member Virtual Town Halls

IPAC invited Indigenous physicians, residents, and medical student members to join an open Town Hall to share their expectations, priorities, and ideas for the organization’s future.
Participants discussed representation, leadership development, and governance priorities, helping to guide IPAC’s ongoing work to strengthen Indigenous leadership and voice in medicine.
