Academic Family Physician, Clinician-Teacher (Toronto, ON)

St. Michael’s Academic Family Health Team is inviting applications from qualified family physicians for a full-time academic clinician-teacher position to build a practice located at the Health Centre at 80 Bond in the Downtown East Toronto community. This opportunity will be eligible for Income Stabilization (IS) program.

The successful candidate must be a family physician with a demonstrated interest in working with marginalized populations in an inner-city context. Candidates will have an ability to work within an anti-oppression framework; and understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient population and community. Fluency in a second language will be considered an asset, particularly, those spoken by communities in the downtown east neighbourhoods (Bengali, Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic, French).

Candidates must hold an MD degree, have a medical license to practice in Ontario, and certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Interest in working with complex patients and prior clinical experience will be considered assets for the role. The candidate will have a strong interest and skills in teaching learners and practicing in a team-based model. Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive clinical care and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners. The expectation will be a minimum of 0.7 clinical FTE at the 80 Bond site.

The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.
