Emergency Medicine Locums | Northwest Territories (FRCPC, CCFP-EM, & CCFP w/ ED experience)

We are currently looking for locum & permanent Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our teams throughout the NWT, including Inuvik and Yellowknife!

As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you’ll play a pivotal role in our dynamic teams, handling a diverse caseloads and having the opportunity to work exclusively in the ER or combine ER duties with other services such as hospitalist, clinic, or community practice.

◦ Durations starting as short as 6 days!

◦ Eligibility to bring a guest through our Friends & Family Travel program by working 5 shifts during December 20, 2025, and January 4, 2026. We’ll reimburse you up to $2000 to bring a guest by January 31st.
◦ Newly increased guaranteed daily rate (with no fee for service).
◦ Recurrent locum incentive: Work 75 shifts between April 1 2025- March 31, 2026 for an additional incentive of $20,000.

1-3 Year Contracts:
◦ Base Salary
$25,000-$100,000 Recruitment Bonus

About our Hospitals:
• Stanton Territorial Hospital serves as the referral center for the Northwest Territories, catering to a catchment population of nearly 50,000 people. Our modern facility, which opened its doors in May 2019, provides state-of-the-art resources for delivering exceptional patient care. There are several local specialists that support the ER, with 24/7 coverage from Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Obs/Gyn, and Radiology.

• Inuvik Regional Hospital is the northernmost hospital with an operating room on the continent. This 48-bed facility, including long-term care, boasts a 14-bed acute care unit with two labor and delivery rooms. The Beaufort-Delta Region is home to the northernmost communities in the Northwest Territories, offers a truly unique experience above the Arctic Circle. From polar bears and reindeer to the stunning pingos and Arctic Ocean dips, Inuvik is a place of adventure, beauty, and community. Requirements:
This job typically requires CCFP-EM certification, however, CCFP certified physicians with appropriate and recent emergency experience will be evaluated and considered. FRCPC Physicians are also welcome to apply. ACLS and ATLS or evidence of equivalent training and skills are required, and candidates must be eligible for licensure to practice in the Northwest Territories.
