Job Description:
The Department of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine,  University of Toronto, is seeking a qualified full-time academic gastroenterologist with an interest in inflammatory  bowel disease (IBD). The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the  rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an  academic position description of Clinician-Teacher (CT) or Clinician Educator (CE). The expected start date of the  position is January 1, 2027, or shortly before or thereafter. 

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in  Gastroenterology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of  Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate will also have or be working towards a  graduate degree or other advanced training relevant to their area of specialization. This position will support  outpatient demands and inpatient consultations, in addition to participating in the relevant educational activities,  including supervision of fellowship trainees in Gastroenterology at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto, and collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Gastroenterology at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division  of Gastroenterology, composed of eight full time academic gastroenterologists, has an international reputation in  therapeutic endoscopy, clinical research, education and quality improvement.  

The estimated income will exceed $200,000 per annum.
