Yellowknife’s Stanton Territorial Hospital serves as the referral centre for the Northwest Territories (NWT), as well as the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut, covering a total population catchment of nearly 50,000 people. 

Typically, Diagnostic Imaging Services sees approximately 700 cases per week (including weekends/evenings), with the locum radiologist expected to cover half of the CT, X-Ray, and Ultrasound cases. Our tele-radiology group covers the other half, including every OBS ultrasound and Breast imaging case. 

Our locum radiologists work 8-hour days with some on-call coverage, depending on the comfort level. 

Additionally, radiologists in Yellowknife provide services without overhead, practice management hassles, or fee-for-service. 

Other local resources include Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Otolaryngology, Obs/Gyn, Orthopedics and Ophthalmology.

This position requires FRCPC certification or equivalent and must be eligible for licensure to practice in the Northwest Territories.
