PRIDoC 2026 Abstract Submissions

Call for Abstracts

The Pacific Region Indigenous Doctors Congress (PRIDoC) 2026 is now accepting abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations.

Under the theme 55+ Hand in Hand, Moving Forward, we invite IPAC members who are Indigenous physicians, postgraduate trainees, and medical students to share their research, experiences, innovations, and initiatives that support Indigenous health and wellness.

Abstracts should align with one of the conference tracks outlined below and reflect work that contributes to advancing Indigenous health, education, leadership, or community well-being.

Abstract Tracks

Submissions should align with one of the following tracks:

• Chronic Disease Care in Indigenous Communities
• Mental Health and Healing Approaches
• Maternal Health in Indigenous Populations
• Child Health in Indigenous Populations
• Youth, Identity and Resilience
• Elder Health
• Climate, Environment and Indigenous Health
• Palliative and End-of-Life Care with Cultural Dignity
• Healthy Living and Health Risks
• Overweight and Obesity

Presentation Opportunities

PRIDoC 2026 welcomes submissions for both oral and poster presentations.

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations provide an opportunity to share research, promising practices, educational initiatives, or community-based work with Congress attendees.

Successful oral presenters will be allocated
• 15-minute presentation
• 5-minute question and answer period

Presenters will be required to submit their PowerPoint presentation in a 16:9 format prior to the Congress.

Poster Presentations

Poster presentations will be displayed throughout the Congress in the Exhibition Hall/Foyer, providing attendees with opportunities to learn about innovative projects, research findings, and community initiatives.

Successful presenters are responsible for designing and printing an A0-sized poster and displaying it in their assigned location.

Abstract Requirements

Abstracts must not exceed 250 words and include:
• Title
• Introduction
• Method
• Outcomes, Discussion and/or Conclusion
• A brief description of how the presentation aligns with the selected conference track

For oral presentation submissions, applicants must also provide:
• Target audience
• Preferred presentation date
• Permission to record and publish
• Any additional audio-visual requirements

Standard audio-visual equipment will be provided by PRIDoC 2026, including a laptop, projector, screen, lectern, and microphone.

Important Dates

Eligibility

Abstract submissions are open to IPAC members who are Indigenous physicians, postgraduate trainees, and medical students. Oral presentations must be delivered by Indigenous presenters. Allies may participate as co-presenters. Only abstracts submitted by IPAC members will be reviewed.

Registration Requirements

Accepted presenters are responsible for registering for PRIDoC 2026 at the applicable conference rate. Complimentary registration is not provided for abstract presenters.

All presenters must:
• Attend in person to present their work.
• Register for PRIDoC 2026 by July 31, 2026.
• Register for at least one day of the Congress.
• Be an IPAC Indigenous Physician, Postgraduate Trainee or Medical Student Member.

Technical Notice

If you previously submitted an abstract through the MAIPT submission system, you do not need to resubmit your abstract.

However, due to recent technical challenges, please contact info@ipacamic.ca to confirm that your abstract was successfully received.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting an abstract, authors acknowledge and agree that:

• PRIDoC is not responsible for submissions lost due to internet, software, hardware, or other technical failures.
• The submitted work is their own and they have authority to submit it.
• All co-authors have approved the submission.
• The abstract highlights the significance, outcomes, and evidence-based merits of the work.
• Promotional or commercial presentations will not be considered.
• Author names and affiliations will be published as submitted.
• Authors retain intellectual property and moral rights to their work.
• PRIDoC is granted a non-exclusive worldwide licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and archive accepted abstracts and presentations in print, electronic, and digital formats, including on the PRIDoC website.
• Study data remains the intellectual property of the authors and study sponsors, where applicable.
• Presenters grant permission for photography, videography, and recording during PRIDoC 2026 and for promotional use in accordance with PRIDoC policies.
• Accepted presentations must remain materially consistent with the submitted abstract.
• At least one author must be available to present in person.
• Presenters must notify organizers immediately if they are unable to present or if the presenting author changes.
• PRIDoC reserves the right to remove presentations from the program.
